A. Guidelines for Sponsorship for Conferences

 
1. Sponsorship by the society will be considered for:
 
a. EXCO members who need to attend meetings related to business of the society.
b. Members who wish to attend regional to international meetings related to infection control, organized by / under the auspices of recognized societies.
 
2. Funding will be partial comprising:
 
a. Full economy air fare
b. Full registration fees
c. Accommodation (standard rooms)
d. Up to a maximum of $3,000 per person
   
3.
Sponsorship is limited to one per calendar year per member.
   
4. In cases of more than 1 applicant, priority is given to a member who is an invited speaker, chairman of session, or person with a presentation (oral or poster).
   
5. The EXCO will approve the application and its decision is final.
   
6. The sum set aside for each year is to be determined by the EXCO each year. Sponsorship is subject to availability of funds.
   
7. Sponsorship from companies is welcomed and will be offered to members who express interest in attending. Priority is given to a member who is an invited speaker, chairman of session, or person with a presentation (oral or poster).

B. Guidelines on Educational Events (Lecture/Seminar/Conference) by Pharmaceutical Companies Co-Sponsored by ICA(S)
   
1. The Chairperson of the educational event must be a member of the society.
   
2. The society has the right to provide feedback and advice to the pharmaceutical company regarding the educational event.
   
3. An administrative fee of $500.00 will be imposed on the pharmaceutical company requesting the sponsorship of the educational event. A reduced fee of $200.00 will be imposed on corporate members of the society.
   
4. The curriculum vitae of the invited speaker(s) and the abstract of the proposed lecture(s) must be submitted to the executive committee of the society for approval at least 6 weeks prior to the date of the educational event. The society reserves the right to reject the proposed speaker(s) if necessary.
   
5. The society’s logo must be included on the invitation cards, related publicity materials and the banner/backdrop on the day of the educational event.
   
6. Invitation cards for the event must be sent to all members of the society.
   
7. The pharmaceutical company should apply for CME points for the event. The CME points awarded should be clearly stated on the invitation cards.
